Igor Santizo

Igor Santizo is a Vancouver-based artist and a teacher keenly interested in wholism and consciousness. His is a multidisciplinary practice of experiential discovery and experimental communication. In the capacity of teacher and facilitator, he introduces participants to the creative process, foundational principles, and visual/cultural literacy; all while freshly encouraging students with their creative potential, emerging selves, and budding art practices. In the complimentary role of artist, he has always sought for a wholistic dialogue between metaphysical principles and material forms. Currently, he is exploring through drawing: variations of a motif, as allusion to cthonic force. These ink drawings are ways to give a signature and vocabulary to abstract forces like: formlessness, energy, points, aggregates, coils, folds, and ascending/descending waves.
