Biography

Kirsten Forkert is an interdisciplinary researcher, teacher, and activist. She sees teaching as a space for students connect with what they feel passionate about, explore their intellectual curiosity and creativity, and to reflect on the power relations at play within the current political moment. Her research focuses on questions of migration, nationalism, xenophobia; she explores questions around who is included in or excluded from the body politics; which voices are heard and which ones are excluded or silenced, and how alternative politics might be imagined and enacted. Kirsten is also interested in methodological experimentation, particularly arts-based methodologies.
