Living on Haida Gwaii, Kathy Pick's practice encompasses working with materials collected from the natural environment. The essence of her work reflects her love of gathering, preserving, and raising awareness for the respectful use of nature. By working in and with her natural surroundings, she hopes to gain a deeper understanding and consciousness of the experience of being alive. Movement, decay, light, and growth are the life force of nature. These energies are also the source of her own rhythms, which are ever more closely tied to nature.Adapted from Kathy Pick, 2024
