Biography

Gillian Collyer has been a practising artist since graduating from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1995. Since then, she has developed a practice as a mixed media installation artist, working in a combination of fibre, video, sound, and performance. In 2004, she completed an MFA in the Fiber and Material Studies department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has exhibited her work in galleries in Canada and the United States. Her work is in the collections of Museum London, Saint Mary’s University Art Gallery, Halifax, and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. Since returning to Toronto in 2008, she has been teaching at the Ontario College of Art and Design and continuing to make and exhibit work.
