Biography

Skai Fowler is a visual artist whose work has been exhibited nationally and internationally since 1987. A graduate of Emily Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver, Skai began her professional arts career in 1994 as an arts administrator with the City of Vancouver in the Office of Cultural Affairs, where she developed and coordinated the Community Public Art Program. Today, Skai is co-curator and gallery artist at Studio 13 Fine Art on Granville Island, Vancouver, and an adjunct professor teaching at the University of British Columbia, in the Theatre and Film Department. Skai’s works are held in private and public collections in Canada, the US, Mexico, Europe, and China, and at the Canada Council Art Bank and Export Development Canada. She has received Canada Council and BC Arts Council Grants. Skai has been a board member on numerous Provincial and National arts organizations and has participated on juries for the BC Arts Council.
