Biography

Lynn Onley was born in Ontario, Canada in 1953. At the age of three Lynn and her family moved to the west coast of Canada. Lynn was fortunate to have participated in the Student Art Tour of 1973 through Capilano College, which took her to Paris, London and Amsterdam. Following this eye opening tour, she enrolled herself at Capilano College in Vancouver and went on to Vancouver Art School from 1975-76, eventually graduating from Emily Carr college in 1982. Lynn’s diverse talents promoted education in many mediums including printmaking. She continues her art studies by participating in workshops at Vancouver Academy of Art, assisting other artist, as well as teaching students the art of watercolours. Lynn’s father, well known master painter, Toni Onley was her most valued teacher, mentor, and friend, and until his death in February of 2004. They spent many hours together painting the beautiful British Columbia landscapes, often in very remote locations only accessible by Toni’s Famous Flying boat. Lynn’s paintings are inspired by her desire to capture the beauty of our most cherished landscape.
