Biography

Since the 1980s, Michel Lagacé's works have been presented in several exhibitions in Quebec and Europe between 1985 and 1995. His artistic production currently alternates between painting and digital production. He has also created several public artworks in Eastern Quebec. He received the CALQ du Bas-Saint-Laurent Prize in 2005. The artist holds a bachelor's degree (1975) and a master's degree in visual arts from the University of Quebec in Montreal (1982). He taught for more than thirty years in the Arts Department of Cégep de Rivière-du-Loup. His works are part of several public and private collections in Canada. The Musée du Bas-Saint-Laurent in Rivière-du-Loup devoted a first retrospective to him (1985-2018) in 2018. Originally from Rivière-du-Loup, Michel Lagacé lives and works in Notre-Dame-du-Portage.
