David Campbell was born in Guyana in 1942 to an Arawak/Scottish father and a Portuguese/South American mother. He migrated to Canada in the early 1960s, moved to Europe and London (UK), where he recorded four folk LPs for Transatlantic, Mercury, and Decca, then headed back to Canada where he continued to write and record music. He is the author of five books and awarded a Wordsworth McAndrew Award by the Guyana Folk Festival Committee in 2003.Adapted from Discogs, 2024
