About

The Smash Gallery of Modern Art opened in January 1990, the brainchild of former street artist Shon Franks AKA 12Midnite and neon designer Anya Slade. Renown for showing some of the hottest popular artists in town and presenting the work of artists too avant garde for mainstream galleries, this gallery maintained that its purpose was to provide a bridge between the artists of Vancouver's "alternative" art scene and the general public.

In 2012, 12Midnite and Jennifer Abrams reimagined the gallery as SMASH Modern Art, an unparalleled art and design firm. Whether at its gallery, located on Vancouver’s East Side, or through its website, SMASH’s clients can find the distinct treasure that sets them apart and mirrors their individual style. SMASH art sales and rentals is a valuable source of original art and one of a kind pieces for the BC film and television industry. SMASH gallery is the place to go when you’re looking for something out of the ordinary . . . because, let’s be frank: YOU are just not like everyone else.
