Biography

Anne Berning (Werl, Germany, 1958) lives and works in Berlin and Wiesbaden, Germany, and since 2004 has been a professor of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts, Mainz. She has exhibited individually at the Kunstverein in Bremerhaven, the CAC in Malaga, in the Kuckei + Kuckei gallery in Berlin, grunt gallery in Vancouver, and in important collectives such as Made in Berlin at the ArtForum, Messenhalle in Berlin, Aldrei Nie Never, Living Art Museum in Reykjavik, Io non ho paura del colore at the Villa Piccolomini in Rome, Don at Chianti Fundation in Texas, “Save the day” at the Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt, and Die Orte der Kunst at the Sprengel Museum in Hannover, as well as in some of the most prestigious International Contemporary Art Fairs.
